Ensign 13
Time of Jacob’s Trouble & Fundamental Beliefs - part C
This makes it the thirteenth to Bro. Tony’s document.
Adding to my previous twelfth point that is called
“ENSIGN.”
Read 2SC2 p. 3 paragraph 6 &
7:
Ans. It is true that in the eyes
of a surface reader Matthew contradicts Daniel
and Daniel contradicts Matthew, but WHEN the
student of prophecy is led by the Spirit of God, Who dictated
the Scriptures, he sinks the shaft deep into the mine of truth, for he
knows that the Scriptures in themselves are in perfect harmony.—2SC2:3.6
What does this 1st paragraph
teach us?
1. …Only those who are searching
for a hook to hang their doubts upon, and who are surface readers and shallow thinkers, can
conclude that the one publication contradicts the other, and if they thus
conclude concerning these publications, they also might just as well conclude
that one part of the Bible contradicts another.—3SC8,10:10.7
2. When those who love the truth
study any doctrinal subject, they NEVER, in trying to
harmonize their private opinions with a scripture in point,
leave THE SCRIPTURE so interpreted as to contradict either
other portions of the Bible or the position of constituted authority, but
rather they forsake their opinions.—3TR:101.2
3. We read in Great Controversy,
page 397: “The spirit of error will lead us from the truth, and the Spirit of
God will lead us into truth. But, say you, a man may be in an error, and think
he has the truth. What then? We answer, The Spirit and word agree. If a man
judges himself by the word of God, and finds a perfect harmony through
the whole word, then he must believe he has the truth; but if he finds the
spirit by which he is led does not harmonize with the whole tenor of
God’s law or book, then let him walk carefully, lest he be caught in
the snare of the devil.”—1SR:13.2
These three points are vitally
crucial to proper Christian growth development in our spiritual knowledge in
the interpreted word of God that flows from the “Golden Bowl” (11Tr:12).
The next paragraph is the master
key π
Speaking of the tribulation, says
the scripture: “Except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be
saved;” i.e., God’s people would have been completely wiped out from the face
of the earth had it not been for the never failing promise: “But for the
elect’s sake those days shall be shortened” (Matt. 24:22), whereas in the time
of trouble Michael will stand up to deliver every one that shall be “found
written in the book.” In other words, during the time of the tribulation the
righteous were killed and the wicked delivered, whereas in
the time of trouble the righteous will be delivered and the
wicked killed. Therefore, the tribulation and the time of
trouble are two outstanding events, each one being the greatest of its
kind in the annals of prophetic history—one the greatest against the righteous
and the other the greatest against the wicked. Thus we see
that, both Matthew and Daniel are correct—showing that each event is the
greatest of its kind.—2SC2:3.7
”…whereas in the πππ TIME OF TROUBLE πππ Michael will stand up to deliver
πππ every one πππ that shall be “found written in
the book.”
Is not that what it says?
In the previous “ensign” document
2TG7 is cited. Now we will labor over its context. The following reference
proves to be “the position of constituted authority” on
identifying by the prophet where he places the Time of
the time of trouble. Is it when the Woman is riding the SCB or is it during the
Assyrian period?
Our subject for this afternoon is
found in Daniel, chapters 11 and 12. Chapter 12 contains the
"time of trouble," BUT πππ the time πππ of the "time of
trouble" IS FOUND in the eleventh chapter of Daniel. The
twelfth chapter is, of course, A CONTINUATION of the eleventh
chapter.—2TG7:3.1
[Remember what follows while Reinforcing
will not, cannot contradict what is stated as the context of the reading]
We all know that Great Britain
has been helped by the United States of America more than once. But if we
rightly understand this verse, the events of which are but a CONTINUATION of
those found in verse 44, the king will surely come to his end and none
shall help him. This may transpire BEFORE World War
II is entirely over, and yet it may not. We gather this from the fact that the
event of verse 44 is in CONNECTION with the event of verse 45. Inspiration seems to allow no time between verses
44 and 45. We do not know the turns which the war will take, but we know that the prophecies of the Bible never fail.—2TG7:9.2
As to his planting his
tabernacles in the glorious holy mountain, it is not too clear, for planting
the tabernacles of his palace before he comes to his end does
not necessarily mean moving his throne there. It could be taken to mean having
a branch of his palace there. If he is to plant his tabernacles there while
Michael stands up, though, then the only locality other than the Holy
Land that we know of, is at Mount Sinai, between the Mediterranean and the Red
Sea.—2TG7:9.3
From the study of the eleventh
chapter of Daniel, we have learned several positive truths: 1. That the time of
the end began in the eighteenth century; 2. That the king of the south is the
Ottoman empire; 3. That the king of the north at the present time is Great
Britain in particular; 4. That World War II πππ is the war πππ in Daniel eleven.—2TG7:10.1
Now that the prophecy of the
eleventh chapter of Daniel CONTINUES through the twelfth, we
shall turn to verse one.—2TG7:10.2
Dan. 12:1—And AT that TIME shall
Michael stand up, the great Prince which standeth for the children of
thy people: and there shall be a TIME of
trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same TIME: and
πππ AT THAT TIME πππ thy people shall be delivered,
everyone that shall be found written in the book.—2TG7:10.3
At that time (that is, AT
THE TIME the king of the north
comes to his end and none help him) shall Michael stand; and AT THE
SAME TIME there shall be trouble such as never was EVEN
TO THAT VERY TIME. Only God’s people, who have their names written in
the book, will be delivered. None other.—2TG7:10.4
Notice that “AT THE Time the king of the North comes to his
end” another trouble although related within the allotted time of “the time of
trouble” is projected into the future by the presence of the
words, “there shall be”, when? “at the time the king of the north
comes to his end.” This is Bro. Houteff’s interpretation of Dan. 12:1.
Grammatically it would be impossible and incoherent to have both the trouble
that causes the fulfillment of Dan. 11:45 be the same kind of trouble at the
same time as the one that is projected into the future, “such as never was”,
during the gathering of the great multitude. This is not the first time two
closely related truths are in themselves separate and distinct as is the case
with the 6th and the 9th hour laborers of Matt. 20. So
although the major application seems to only be suitable for when the “great
multitude” shall be delivered from the woman driving the S.C.B. this does not
negate in any way the fact that Michael was already standing when he began to
deliver His people “AT THE time the king of the North came to his end.”
This study has led us step by
step down to our own day. Through this study we see that the time of trouble is
but a step in the future, that the only event YET to be
fulfilled before the trouble begins is the king of the north coming to his end.
πππ Then follows the reward of the faithful. πππ —2TG7:10.5
“And at that time” – that
is, at the time the king of the north comes to his end
(chapter 11, verse 45) – shall Michael stand up and deliver His people, the
Church, all who are written in the Book. What else takes place?
—2TG42:29.2
Some are portraying this phrase
here “the church” in this passage to be referring to the 144,000 after Ezek.
9 while Babylon is enforcing the IMOB before they walk into the kingdom, after
the earth helped the woman by swallowing the flood. But in all actuality this
is the very exact TIME WHEN the flood is being swallowed up
and it is before Babylon comes upon the stage of action.
What event and by WHOM is the KON
comes to HIS end? If we are deceived into reading this in a false “light” then
we will not be in harmony with other portions of the SRod.
Pause for a moment. Here is an
example of what may happen to us when “very frequently failing
to view a subject in full perspective from the writer’s point of view”
(3Ans:91.2).
The apparent
discrepancies between the Rod and the Spirit of Prophecy are
fabricated by men whose minds
are filled with private interpretations, opinions of uninspired men,
self-exaltation, etc., to such an extent that their vision of
the Scriptures and the writing of Sr. White has so greatly π shrunk π that they cannot see
BOTH ENDS of ONE subject at the same time, πππ and when they are brought face to face with the truth they
prefer to change their former position rather than to
acknowledge the truth! πππ We can prove this statement in
black and white through the official organs of the denomination, i.e., “The
Review and Herald,” and “The Signs of the Times,” etc.—1SC18:8.4
What happens when we truncate
(shrink) God’s deliverance for the “second fruits” into a kind of second
deliverance for the “firstfruits” (after Ezek. 9) that seem to converge
altogether in one place? Just because the same verse (i.e. Dan. 12:1) of
scripture is being occupied (quoted) to prove the source of the deliverance for
the “second fruits” is not rock solid evidence that the “firstfruits” were not
already delivered when Christ was wearing garments of vengeance.
Also, the word AFTER is
missing from 2TG42:29.2. It does not read after the KON comes
to his end then shall Michael stand up. Read the passage again
and then continue with this exposition.
“And AT that
time” – that is, AT the time the king of the north comes
to HIS end (chapter 11, verse 45) – shall Michael stand up and
deliver His people, the Church, all who are written in the Book.—2TG42 29.2
The same is brought out in
2TG7:3.1. It reads:
Our subject for this afternoon is
found in Daniel, chapters 11 and 12. Chapter 12 contains the "time of
trouble," but πππ the time πππ of the "time of trouble" is found in the eleventh
chapter of Daniel. The twelfth chapter is, of course, a continuation of the
eleventh chapter. We shall begin our study with—2TG7:3.1
See also 2TG7:8.6-10.5
Michael’s standing up AT
the time the king of the North comes to his end is the revealed cause,
the revealed reason and the revealed TIMING why the KON comes
to his end. The Assyrian confederates failed to heed the warning contained in
14 Tract - WAR NEWS FORECAST when WW No. 2 is to be concluded.
What is the reward of the righteous if not God’s protection and the
establishment of their long awaited kingdom of David? Is that not correct?
Michael’s need of putting on
garments of vengeance is because of what He is about to do on earth He cannot
wear His High Priest garments. Thus He first ceases His mediatorial Work in the
Most Holy Place in heaven for the space of half hour. The work He is about to
perform upon the earth ππΌππΌππΌ AT THAT TIME ππΌππΌππΌ has not been witnessed since God “delivered” Israel out of
ancient Egypt through Judgments even by the Passover. This final second Exodus
shall be the culmination of all antitypes and yet a little different and not
according to any human planning.
Isaiah 26:9-10 KJV
[9] With my soul have I desired
thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early:
for WHEN thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of
the world will learn righteousness.
[10] Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn
righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not
behold the majesty of the Lord.
Ere long the obedient will see
the blessed results that follow the keeping of all God’s commandments and the
transgressors of his law will reap the reward of their doings. The Judge of all
the earth will vindicate his insulted authority. Already we see his
judgments in the land. And the end is not yet. πππ He will work until sin and sinners are destroyed from the
earth. πππ —ST December 15, 1881 Par. 21
The End of the wicked
The Rod teaches that at the time
for the fulfillment of Dan. 12.1 is the same exact time of “…the end of the
wicked.…” This “end of the wicked” begins with those who are wicked in the SDA
Church who came against the Jacobites thus delivering and beginning the
cleansing work of the sanctuary among the living on earth and then the book
work in heaven. Then it continues out into the world. See: 15Tr:89.2 and
2Ans:37.2.
1. The “end of the wicked”
(15Tr:89.2; 2Ans:37.2; 9Tr:14.1; 14Tr:3.3),
2. The purification of the SDA
Church (5T:79.4), and the
3. re-establishment of the
everlasting kingdom of God's glory (PK:22.1; 713.1; GC:18.2-19.1)
High unacknowledged points of
unadulterated "plain, clear-cutting" (1SR:95.1), the "plain,
simple" (1T:134.3), "positive truth" (2TG7:2.3) from Bro.
Houteff π― "Hear Ye The Rod" π―
“Affliction shall not rise up a
second time.” —14TR:3.3
In what context will affliction
not rise a second time?
In the context of Nahum's war and
deliverance of the saints who are AT THAT TIME (before the
deliverance) are commingled with the tares. (See: 14Tr:18)
Na 1:12, 13—Thus saith the
LORD; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be
cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have
afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
13 For now will I break his [Assyria's] yoke from off thee [14Tr:18],
and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
How is the trouble (Cry day and
night for deliverance) before Ezek. 9 not a permitted affliction upon the
144,000 and by theorizing by placing JTT after Ezek. 9 not be a second
affliction upon them again?
Moreover, whatever interpretation
we may place on ANY statement in reference to ANY truth, must
be in harmony with every other statement on the subject. —3SC1:11.1
Any explanation of a
prophecy which adds to or takes from any part
of relevant scripture in order to harmonize the interpretation, can
only be FALSE. When the Spirit of God interprets the
Scriptures, He does not in any way need to alter any part of Them in order to
make the explanation fit that which is being unfolded. When, moreover,
the true interpretation of a prophecy is made, it always contains a lesson of
present truth "adapted to the necessities of God's people" (The Great
Controversy, p. 609) at the time the scripture is revealed. Knowing this,
Satan is continually
Paving the Way for Sinning
Against the Holy Ghost.—5Tr:6.4
As the tribulation is the greatest "since the beginning of the
world," it shows that there has never been as great a tribulation against
God's people as there was during the above stated period; and as Jesus said
that there never shall be the like, He assures us that God will not permit the
wicked after 1798 A.D., to again "wear out the saints," whereas the
time of trouble, says Daniel, is the greatest "since there was a
nation" showing that the deluge was either greater or equal to it, also
that the time of trouble could be followed by a greater one, for He says,
"even to that same time" instead, "nor ever shall be."—2SC2:3.7
”also that the time of trouble πππ could be followed by a GREATER
one, πππ for He says, "even to that same time" instead,
"nor ever shall be."
Jacob’s time of trouble is the climax of
the trouble found in Daniel 11 which contains the “Time of trouble.” Then the time
of trouble continues and will be followed by a greater one for the “great multitude” which will
present the most formidable obstacle like an antitypical Goliath. But
antitypical David (the Stone) will mash up the New World Order and remove every
physical hindrance, every spiritual obstacle.
