The Seventy weeks prophecy of Daniel 9

Dan. 9:24-27

 24  Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
 25  Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
 26  And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
 27  And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.


PROOF 1: THE DEATH OF HEROD

Herod died, according to historical records, in 4 BC (Paul S. Karleen, The Handbook to Bible Study, page 332 and Sharon Rusten with E. Michael, The Complete Book of When & Where in the Bible and Throughout History, page 67), and Jesus was born just before the death of Herod, according to the Gospels (Matthew 2:19, 20). Jesus was baptized when He was about thirty years old, according to Luke (Luke 3:23), so that puts Jesus’ baptism at AD 27, thirty years from 4 BC.

Herod's death is a great marker but the 4 BC date is untenable for the following reasons









As for Jesus being baptized in AD 29 we will soon learn why this needs to be reconsidered. However, what we can fully appreciate as students of the Bible is Jimmy's earnest laboring over what is incompatible or inconsistent as he corrects the historical record with the biblical account. For us, the prophecy of Dan. 9:24, 27, and DA:233.2 gives us immutable anchor points to work with.

Inspiration reveals that the wise men from the east found Jesus Christ cradled in a manger. Herod's aim to secure the throne for himself was to strike down all male children two years and younger failed. His demise followed in 1 BC placing Jesus's birth no more than 3 BC. Herod's cruelty was turned right back upon himself shortly after that event. (See: DA:61.1-67.1.)

"…For thirty years He had been to her a loving and obedient son, and His love was unchanged; but He must now go about His Father's work.…"—DA:146.2.

      "Christ had sojourned in the world for thirty-three years; He had endured its scorn, insult, and mockery; He had been rejected and crucified."—DA:830.2

We also have John's declaration "Behold the Lamb of God" before Jesus' baptism and after His return from the desert (DA:136.4). This all occurred in AD 27. (See: DA:136.2-138.2). 


PROOF 2: THE FIFTEENTH YEAR OF TIBERIUS CAESAR

Luke records the baptism of Jesus to be in the fifteenth year of Tiberius Caesar (Luke 3:1, 21). According to historical records, the fifteenth year of Tiberius Caesar was AD 27.…

     Tiberius Caesar began to reign conjointly with his father in A. D. 12, and his fifteenth year would therefore be A. D. 27. John began his work, therefore, and Jesus was baptized, in the year A. D. 27. Now let us see if this agrees with what the angel said. Four hundred and eighty-three years from B. C. 457 would reach to the close of A. D. 26, provided we begin to reckon from the first day of B. C. 457. But the decree went forth some time in the year 457 B. C., and not on its first day, and consequently there were only four hundred and fifty-six and a fraction, of the four hundred and eighty-three years, before the Christian era. Four hundred and eighty-three, less four hundred and fifty-six and a fraction, leaves twenty-six and a fraction. That is, something over twenty-six of the four hundred and eighty-three years remained after the beginning of the Christian era. But this would bring us into the year 27 A. D., and that is when, as we have seen, the baptism of Jesus did actually occur. At that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent ye, and believe the gospel." Mark 1:15. {1889 EJW, PROLI 14.4}

     If the Jews, therefore, had been attentive to the prophecies that were in their hands, and had heartily believed them, they would have acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah as soon as they saw the Holy Spirit descend upon him at his baptism. {1889 EJW, PROLI 15.1} 

     But the angel told Daniel still more concerning Christ. From the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem, seventy prophetic weeks, or four hundred and ninety years, were allotted to the Jewish people. So when Jesus was baptized, one week of years still remained. This week of years, beginning in AD 27, is the week referred to in Dan.9:27: "And he [the Messiah] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week; and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease." All the Jewish sacrifices and oblations typified the real sacrifice of Christ, and when he was "cut off, but not for himself" (Dan.9:26), they were made to cease. {1889 EJW, PROLI 15.2} 

     Jesus was crucified at the time of the Passover. (See Matt.26:2.) From John 2:13; 5:1; 6:4; 12:1, we find that the Passover at which he was crucified was the fourth one that he attended after his baptism. Then his earthly ministry lasted three full years and a half, and the Scripture was fulfilled, which said that in the midst of the week (the last week of years allotted to the Jewish nation) he should cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. "For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath-day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him." Acts 13:27.—Prophetic Lights, pp. 14.3-15.3 [by Ellet Joseph Waggoner, 1889]


PROOF 3: THE BUILDING OF THE TEMPLE

When Jesus visited the Jerusalem temple for the first time after His baptism in the month of Abib, the first Jewish month, He had a discussion with the leaders of the Jews. He said, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up” (John 2:19), to which they replied that the temple had been in construction for forty-six years, so how could He re-build it in three days?

 19  Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
 20  Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

From historical records we know that Herod started to rebuild the temple in 20/19 BC (David S. Dockery et al., Holman Bible Handbook, page 522). Forty-six years later puts the baptism of Jesus in AD 27.


Unfortunately, although the idea in direction is correct the source and date being offered as proof No. 3 in regard to rebuilding are incorrect. The 2nd temple building began with Cyrus' decree. God called him by name through the prophet Isaiah before he was born. " 'Cyrus, he is My shepherd, and shall perform all My pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.' 'I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build My city, and he shall let go My captives, not for price nor reward, saith the Lord of hosts.' Isaiah 44:28;  45:13.  {PK 552.2}  

     Nor were these the only prophecies upon which the exiles had opportunity to base their hope of speedy deliverance. The writings of Jeremiah were within their reach, and in these was plainly set forth the length of time that should elapse before the restoration of Israel from Babylon. "When seventy years are accomplished," the Lord had foretold through His messenger, "I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations." Jeremiah 25:12. Favor would be shown the remnant of Judah, in answer to fervent prayer. "I will be

found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive." Jeremiah 29:14.—Prophet and Kings, p. 552.2, 3

…And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.  And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar [[ March ]], which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king." (Ezra 6:11-15.)—2SR:278.1

     Hence, we are obliged to count back 49 plus 434 years, the sum of which, 483 years, was the time from the decree found in Ezra 7:21-26 to the baptism of Christ. Therefore, Christ being baptized in the year 27 AD, we subtract this date from the 483 years. Thus, 483-27=456 BC—the year Artaxerxes Longimanus decreed "to beautify the house" of God (Ezra 7:27) under the supervision of Ezra the priest, and to re-build the wall under the direction of Nehemiah—is the date where the 2300 year period began, at which time the temple

had already been finished. (Ezra 6:14, 15.) Consequently, we subtract the years of the Old Testament era from the prophetic period. Therefore, 2300–456=1844 AD, the date when the 2300 years expired, at which time the sanctuary was to be cleansed,—the commencement of the anti-typical day of atonement, or the investigative judgment. As the angel stated: "Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision." (Dan. 8:17.) Thus it is seen that the Bible itself can establish the nature of the judgment, its time, and vital necessity…—3Tr34:21.2


The 46 years to build 2nd temple fit better before with Artaxerxes' decree to rebuild the wall and "to beautify the house" of God.


In the spring of AD 31, Christ the true sacrifice was offered on Calvary.—DA:233.2


From eyewitnesses some of the disciples had obtained quite a full account of the events of Friday. Others beheld the scenes of the crucifixion with their own eyes.—Counsels to Parents, Teachers, and Students, p. 295.3


Lev. 23:5

 5  In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.


     In company with His disciples, the Saviour slowly made His way to the garden of Gethsemane. The Passover moon, broad and full, shone from a cloudless sky. The city of pilgrims' tents was hushed into silence.—DA:685.1


     According to "clearbibleanswers.com" and the supporting proofs provided Jesus was crucified on Friday, April 27, 0031. Then Ascended 40 days later into heaven after His resurrection on Thursday, June 7, 0031. Pentecost took place on Sunday, June 17, 0031.

This places His "triumphal procession" (DA:572.2) into Jerusalem on palm Sunday, taking place on April 22, 0031.


     "It was on the first day of the week that Christ made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem.…Many people were on their way to the city to keep the Passover, and these joined the multitude attending Jesus."—DA:569.3.

By the way

This undoubtedly also implicates both Jews and Christians to cease the wall of partition. On the platform of truth let us break bread together at one table furnished by Messiah. What Christians celebrate today known as "the last supper," the last meal Jesus had to go on before He died for you and I, was the ancient ceremonial Passover rite (Ex. 12:21-27; Lev. 23:5) that was eaten on the evening of Wednesday, April 25, 0031. Messiah replaced the ceremonial Passover lamb (Matt. 26:17-30), took it within Himself to the cross, and becomes "the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29) in substance. Type had met anti-type.


     In the upper chamber of a dwelling at Jerusalem, Christ was sitting at table with His disciples. They had gathered to celebrate the Passover. The Saviour desired to keep this feast alone with the twelve. He knew that His hour was come; He Himself was the true paschal lamb, and on the day the Passover was eaten He was to be sacrificed. He was about to drink the cup of wrath; He must soon receive the final baptism of suffering. But a few quiet hours yet remained to Him, and these were to be spent for the benefit of His beloved disciples.  {DA 642.1}
     The whole life of Christ had been a life of unselfish service. "Not to be ministered unto, but to minister," (Matthew 20:28), had been the lesson of His every act. But not yet had the disciples learned the lesson. At this last Passover supper, Jesus repeated His teaching by an illustration that impressed it forever on their minds and hearts.—DA:642.1, 2

     Christ is still at the table on which the paschal supper has been spread. The unleavened cakes used at the Passover season are before Him. The Passover wine, untouched by fermentation, is on the table. These emblems Christ employs to represent His own unblemished sacrifice. Nothing corrupted by fermentation, the symbol of sin and death, could represent the "Lamb without blemish and without spot." 1 Peter 1:19.—DA:653.2

     God chose Israel to reveal His character to men. He desired them to be as wells of salvation in the world. To them were committed the oracles of heaven, the revelation of God's will. In the early days of Israel the nations of the world, through corrupt practices, had lost the knowledge of God. They had once known Him; but because "they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, . . . their foolish heart was darkened." Romans 1:21. Yet in His mercy God did not blot them out of existence. He purposed to give them an opportunity of again becoming acquainted with Him through His chosen people. Through the teachings of the sacrificial service, Christ was to be uplifted before all nations, and all who would look to Him should live. Christ was the foundation of the Jewish economy. The whole system of types and symbols was a compacted prophecy of the gospel, a presentation in which were bound up the promises of redemption.  {AA 14.1}  

     But the people of Israel lost sight of their high privileges as God's representatives. They forgot God and failed to fulfill their holy mission. The blessings they received brought no blessing to the world. All their advantages they appropriated for their own glorification. They shut themselves away from the world in order to escape temptation. The restrictions that God had placed upon their association with idolaters as a means of preventing them from conforming to the practices of the heathen, they used to build up a wall of separation between themselves and all other nations. They

robbed God of the service He required of them, and they robbed their fellow men of religious guidance and a holy example.—Acts of the Apostles, p. 14.1, 2


     The Jews were about to celebrate the Passover at Jerusalem, in commemoration of the night of Israel's deliverance, when the destroying angel smote the homes of Egypt. In the paschal lamb God desired them

to behold the Lamb of God, and through the symbol receive Him who gave Himself for the life of the world. But the Jews had come to make the symbol all-important, while its significance was unnoticed. They discerned not the Lord's body. The same truth that was symbolized in the paschal service was taught in the words of Christ. But it was still undiscerned.—DA:388.3


In modern times reckoning, one hour before midnight, on Wednesday, April 25, 0031

     Christ was standing at the point of transition between TWO economies and their two great festivals. He, the spotless Lamb of God, was about to present Himself as a sin offering, that He would thus bring to an end the system of types and ceremonies that for four thousand years had pointed to His death. As He ate the Passover with His disciples, He instituted in its place the service that was to be the memorial of His great sacrifice. The national festival of the Jews was to pass away forever. The service which Christ established was to be observed by His followers in all lands and through all ages.—DA:652.2

     The Passover was followed by the seven days' feast of unleavened bread. On the second day of the feast, the first fruits of the year's harvest, a sheaf of barley, was presented before the Lord. All the ceremonies of the feast were types of the work of Christ. The deliverance of Israel from Egypt was an object lesson of redemption, which the Passover was intended to keep in memory. The slain lamb, the unleavened bread, the sheaf of first fruits, represented the Saviour.—DA 77.1

     Never before in His earthly life had Jesus permitted such a demonstration. He clearly foresaw the result. It would bring Him to the cross. But it was His purpose thus publicly to present Himself as the Redeemer. He desired to call attention to the sacrifice that was to crown His mission to a fallen world. While the people were assembling at Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover, He, the antitypical Lamb, by a voluntary act set Himself apart as an oblation. It would be needful for His church in all succeeding ages to make His death for the sins of the world a subject of deep thought and study. Every fact connected with it should be verified beyond a doubt. It was necessary, then, that the eyes of all people should now be directed to Him; the events which preceded His great sacrifice must be such as to call attention to the sacrifice itself. After such a demonstration as that attending His entry into Jerusalem, all eyes would follow His rapid progress to the final scene.—DA:571.2

Year 31 Calendar – Israel




That is (if the phases of the moon are reported correctly) based on historical facts with divinely revealed details when we re-visit AD 31 with 21st Century united States Naval Observatory precision we can now tell that Jesus died on April 27, 0031.




How do we test this for sure? The key is found in Answerer, bk. 3 p. 11.1

     "Beginning its first month of the year with the first new moon, at, or after, the vernal equinox, March 20-21,…"—3An:11.1

"…The time of the Passover corresponded to the close of March or the beginning of April, and the whole land was bright with flowers, and glad with the song of birds.…"—DA:75.2

Therefore the vernal equinox in AD 31 (a non-leap year) falls on March 20th. The first new moon after the vernal equinox in AD 31 comes on April 10. Counting forward 14 days puts us in proximity to the observance of the Passover feast and a Friday crucifixion under the range of a shining Passover full moon as described in DA:685.1. All this certifies the accuracy of the combined Spirit-led revealed efforts of God's prophets.

Some vital details in regards to reckoning time in the past. Of course, take the allegation of "millions of years ago" with a grain of salt.





Although the 2000th anniversary of Christ's crucifixion will land that year on a Sunday, April 27, 2031, that does not mean that it will coincide perfectly on a Friday, as it did in AD 31. For the same day as in AD 31 will happen 2 years prior in 2029. However, the new moon will not come on April 10th in 2029 as it did in AD 31. The new moon occurring exactly on the 10th of April with the 27th being on a Friday happened 7 times. AD 31; AD 126; AD 221; AD 305; AD 400; AD 742; and AD 1016. Then 2,371 years later this celestial configuration repeats again for the 8th time in AD 3387.

Now, pitching backward to the beginning of Christ's ministry 3 years and 6 months from His crucifixion on Friday, April 27, 0031 sets us back to a Monday, Oct. 27, 0027. Then after his baptism, 40 days into the wilderness brings us to a Friday, December 5th, 0027.

However, according to the chart below the wilderness wandering did not begin on the self-same day of His baptism. If "The Sacred year and its main feasts" chart is correct the wilderness wandering places the end of the 40-day fast not on the 5th but on a Sunday, Dec. 7, 0027. This would also be the date when the tempter came to Christ when he was at His weakest humanly speaking. (See: DA:117.3, 4.)




Matt. 20:27-31
 20:27  And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
 20:28  Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
 20:29  And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
 20:30  And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.
 20:31  And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.


Thus on the 27th day of the 7th (Oct.) month in AD 0027, Jesus indeed was baptized and the seventieth week (Dan. 9:24, 27) began. But when did his ministry begin? With 0028 AD being a leap year his ministry could not be more than 1,237 days terminating at the Cross.

…The commandment to restore and build Jerusalem, as completed by the decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus (see Ezra 6:14; 7:1, 9, margin), went into effect in the autumn of B. C. 457. From this time four hundred and eighty-three years extend to the autumn of A. D. 27. According to the prophecy, this period was to reach to the Messiah, the Anointed One. In A. D. 27, Jesus at His baptism received the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and soon afterward began His ministry. Then the message was proclaimed. "The time is fulfilled."—DA:233.1

Three years and six months based on modern-day reckoning amounts to 1,278 days. After Jesus resurrected and conquered death, He added an additional 40 days of ministry to His disciples bringing the total to no more than 1,277 days. The missing one day would be that Sabbath day He rested in the grave. Had His disciples fully understood what would happen to Christ based on the words coming out of His mouth and a true understanding of prophecy their experience although still unpleasant and painful would have been much different. 


Now, if God is intentionally fulfilling antitype to match the dates of types as recorded in the book of the Law then to have a "key" date in hand would be useful to Judean-Christian believers in the latter days. It just may prove to have a qualitative transcending equivalence to align modern to ancient times. It is the revealed date of the great disappointment and its anti-typical significance with the ancient event of the day of atonement, October 22, 1844. (See: GC88:352.1-3; 399.)


October 22, 1844, The Day of Expectation  

     A careful study of types and antitypes led to the observation that the crucifixion of Christ took place on the very day in the yearly round of ceremonies given to Israel when the Passover lamb was slain. Would not the cleansing of the sanctuary typified in the Day

of Atonement—falling on the tenth day of the seventh month—likewise take place on the very day in the year celebrated in the type? (see GC, p. 399). This, according to the true Mosaic reckoning of time, would be October 22. Early in August, 1844, at a camp meeting at Exeter, New Hampshire, this view was introduced and it was accepted as the date for the fulfillment of the prophecy of the 2300 days. The parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1-13 took on particular significance—the tarrying of the bridegroom, the waiting and slumbering of those who awaited the marriage, the cry at midnight, the shutting of the door, et cetera. The message that Christ was coming on October 22 came to be known as the “midnight cry.” “The ‘midnight cry,’” wrote Ellen White, “was heralded by thousands of believers.” She added:  {1BIO 50.6} 

          Like a tidal wave the [seventh-month] movement swept over the land. From city to city, from village to village, and into remote country places it went, until the waiting people of God were fully aroused.—GC, p. 400.

The Great Disappointment of October 22, 1844  

     With bated breath the Adventists, no less than fifty thousand and probably nearer one hundred thousand scattered largely across the northeastern portion of North America, arose to greet the eventful day, Tuesday, October 22, 1844.  {1BIO 53.2} 
Some sought vantage points where they could peer into the clear heavens, hoping to catch a first glimpse of the coming of their returning Lord. When would Jesus come? The morning hours slowly passed and noon came, then midafternoon; finally darkness settled upon the earth. But it was still October 22, and it would be till midnight. At last that hour came, but Jesus did not come. The disappointment was almost beyond description. In later years some wrote of the experience. Hiram Edson gave a vivid account of how they looked for the coming of the Lord “until the clock tolled twelve at midnight. Then our disappointment became a certainty.” Of his experience in the depths of sorrow he wrote:  {1BIO 53.3} 

     Our fondest hopes and expectations were blasted, and such a spirit of weeping came over us as I never experienced before. It seemed that the loss of all earthly friends could have been no comparison. We wept and wept, till the day dawn.  {1BIO 53.4} 

 

     I mused in my own heart, saying, “My advent experience has been the richest and brightest of all my Christian experience. If this had proved a failure, what was the rest of my Christian experience worth? Has the Bible proved a failure? Is there no God, no heaven, no golden home city, no Paradise? Is all this but a cunningly devised fable? Is there no reality to our fondest hope and expectation of these things?” And thus we had something to grieve and weep over, if all our fondest hopes were lost.      Inseparably linked with the position held by the pioneers that something of significance had transpired on October 22, 1844, was

the understanding that a “door” was shut in connection with the fulfilling of prophecy. The expression is found in the message to the church in Philadelphia as set forth in Revelation 3:7, 8. There is described One who held the “key of David,” “he that openeth, and no man shutteth, and shutteth, and no man openeth,” the One who declared, “I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it.” This message to the Philadelphia church had laid the foundation for rightfully advocating a “shut door” [SEE CHAPTER 16, “THE SHUT AND THE OPEN DOORS."] on October 22, 1844. The full significance of the expression was not immediately understood, but the term early became synonymous with confidence in the fulfillment of prophecy on October 22, and it was so used for about seven years after the 1844 disappointment. It was usually understood to be linked with a close of probation, but for whom?—1BIO:95.6

     So history records these miraculous events in Sweden for later generations to recall, lest the Adventists forget or deny the mighty power of God at work in the Advent proclamation of the 1840's and the significance of the judgment that began in the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary October 22, 1844.—Ellen G. Thus the tenth day of the seventh month is equivalent to October 22, 1844. With this re-alignment, we can see why God's new year would naturally begin in springtime rather than in winter. We can also see the effect of the horn power "to change times and laws" (Dan 7:25). Therefore we have experienced either a ten or twelve-day shift within a month along with a shift of an entire 3 month season. And contrary to Gen. 1:5 on a daily basis a 6-hour differential shift of when the day actually begins and ends. Also, the dates provided by modern Passover observers may prove to be off as well.

However, there might be an even closer date and that is the date Jesus Christ paid the ransom.

So which date are we going to go with, the date of the fulfillment of the antitypical day of atonement or the date that Jesus paid the ransom? Pitched on the horns of this false dillema logical fallicy you should begin by first rejecting both propositions. And here is the sound reason to do so. We should never pick one truth over another. Instead, we are going to reject the original propostion in its current form with the intention of introducing a harmonizing third proposition when both dates are valid. If you have a sharp eye you will have noticed that both dates can be used. The revealed date of that of the commencement of the anti-typical day of atonement, Oct. 22, 1844 can be used to align leap years. And the date that Jesus paid the ransom on April, 27, 0031 can be used to govern and align non-leap years.


In summary, Jesus Christ, the Majesty of heaven, our Saviour took on the form of a servant and became flesh, obedient unto death (Php. 2:8) for our Salvation. Messiah came out of Nazareth and met John the Baptist (Matt. 3:13) in the Jordan (Matt. 3:6) river to be baptized on MondayOctober 27, 0027, “and received God's anointing of the Spirit of God” (GC:327.1). Two days later on Wednesday, the 29th of October He was led by the Spirit into the wilderness (Luke 4:1) and began to fast for 40 days (Matt. 4:2). That ended on SundayDec. 7, 0027 being tempted that very self-same day (Matt. 4:1). 1,237 days later on FridayApril 27, 0031 He laid down His life for His friends (John 15:13) and His disciples suffered a great and bitter disappointment. How great was it? Five days earlier on Palm Sunday, April 22, 0031 they witness the procession of the King of Israel entering Jerusalem. The disciples' expectation of fulfilling Old Testament prophecies of the re-establishment of the throne of David in their day was running very high. However, what they were not expecting to happen did. Then on Sunday, April 29, 0031 He executed His Father's command (John 10:18), took up His life for the last time and raised Himself up from the dead, and lives forever more (Rev. 1:18). Another great significance is connected with this victorious day. "His resurrection took place on the very day when the wave sheaf was to be presented before the Lord. For more than a thousand years this symbolic ceremony had been performed. From the harvest fields the first heads of ripened grain were gathered, and when the people went up to Jerusalem to the Passover, the sheaf of first fruits was waved as a thank offering before the Lord." (DA:785.4.) To their shock and utter amazement our Saviour spent another 40 additional personal days with His disciples and Ascended into heaven on Thursday, June 7, 0031. Ten days later on Sunday, June 17, 0031 Pentecost took place with 120 disciples in the upper room. And the rest is history still in the making. He spent 33 selfless years keeping God's covenant which amounts to loving God supremely and loving His fellow man as Himself—the ten commandments.

We saw the invaluable waymarks of the biblical doctrine of the 2300-days (Dan. 8:14) prophecy that birthed the great Advent movement that began with William Miller's ministry. And that although it ended also in great disappointment it gave rise to a remnant church called Seventh-day Adventists. All this is aptly, prophetically, and accurately described in Rev. 10:10, 11. Of course, nothing sealed can become unsealed unless through God's chosen method disclosed in Amos 3:7. This is the reason why and an undisputable clear indication that we are living not only in the "time of the end" under the unsealed book of Daniel (Dan. 12:4) but we are among the writings of God's prophets guiding the footsteps of the elect of God in the remnant church (Rev. 12:17; 19:10).

Thus the reason why "Every fact connected with it [[ His death for the sins of the world ]] should be VERIFIED beyond a doubt."—DA:571.2

As we trace the footsteps of the Master these become commemorative days. Let us be found among the wise that will ever keep in plain view the path leading upward to the city of our God. This vision not only signals our beginning with the servant of the Lord E. G. White (EW:13.3-14.1) but it promises to locate and bring to Christian maturity for the Harvest 144,000 "servants of our God" (Rev. 7:3) who will at the appointed time give the third angel's messages to then ALL the world when it shall have swelled into a loud Cry.

     Let us strive with all the power that God has given us to be among the hundred and forty-four thousand (RH March 9, 1905).—7BC:970.10

P.S.

Now that we know when Jesus died, why not go all the way? 

As for Jesus' birth date, there is only one season during the year in which lambs are born.

When you numerically lay out all 33 years of His life expiring in AD 31 we find with certainty the staring point of His birth. The commencement of winter seems out of the question when Luke 2:8 is taken into consideration.

Now we can understand visually why Dr. Luke wrote

Luke 3:23
 23  And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age,…

because at the time of His anointing (Lk 3:22) on Monday, Oct. 27, 0027 He was 29 years old. Had he actually been 30 then at the time of the crucifixion he would have been 34.

I learned of this perceptive observation first from Johnathan Cahn's YouTube video "When was Jesus REALLY born??" And he found it in the word of God. I checked and found the same. What I don't agree with is the assigned year of Christ's birth set at 6 BC but the season, the correct springtime season is impeccable.

Inspiration says that Christ sojourned thirty-three years (DA:830.2) therefore several days prior to His crucifixion on Friday, April 27, 0031 would have been His 33rd anniversary of the date of His Incarnation.

The following is an extreme adaptation to peer at the previous -3 years in BC.

These are the exact months and dates heading backward into -3 BC. All that is needed now is verification of the actual moon phases for these three years from -3 to -1 BC. Now we know the arrangement of the dates and how they appear in the year when Jesus Christ was born. But wait,  doesn't everything in BC gets reversed?

Here is how we know that only the years were counting backward and not anything else. If you reverse the order for the days of the week to appear in the same direction as the years counting down you would make Sunday the 7th day of the week and the Sabbath the 1st day. We know that is not the case because in God's 10 commandments the 4th calls for the keeping of the seventh-day holy never the first. Furthermore, time is linear just as the seasons are. Also, there are reasons to believe that God's number is 7. If you don't believe me just have a look at this mind-bending work of Brandon Peterson.




Therefore, based on the discovered principle of the repeated patterns of seven brought forward by Brandon; even as I have observed while compiling all of these discovered details of the life of Jesus Christ. I'm going to hazard a guess on the day our Saviour is born. Taking my cue from the day of His anointing, His baptism, an interesting compilation of 7s because it occurred on the 27th day of the 7th month (October), in the year AD 27. So now counting back 7 months will puts us on Thursday, March 27, -0003. It is also 7 days from the vernal equinox.


Even so

     In His wisdom the Lord concealed the place where He buried Moses. God buried him, and God resurrected him and took him to heaven. This secrecy was to prevent idolatry. He against whom they rebelled while he was in active service, whom they provoked almost beyond human endurance, was almost worshiped as God after his separation from them by death. For the very same purpose He has concealed the precise day of Christ's birth, that the day should not receive the honor that should be given to Christ as the Redeemer of the world—one to be received, to be trusted, to be relied on as He who could save to the uttermost all who come unto Him. This is an educated guesstimate but what isn't is that Jesus was lost sight of by His parents for 3 days in AD 10. And the following reading explains why it happened.

Chap. 8 - The Passover Visit

     Among the Jews the twelfth year was the dividing line between childhood and youth. On completing this year a Hebrew boy was called a son of the law, and also a son of God. He was given special opportunities for religious instruction, and was expected to participate in the sacred feasts and observances. It was in accordance with this custom that Jesus in His boyhood made the Passover visit to Jerusalem. Like all devout Israelites, Joseph and Mary went up every year to attend the Passover; and when Jesus had reached the required age, they took Him with them.  {DA 75.1}  

     There were three annual feasts, the Passover, the Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles, at which all the men of Israel were commanded to appear before the Lord at Jerusalem. Of these feasts the Passover was the most largely attended.—DA:75.1, 2

With certainty, Jesus was called "a son of the law, and also a son of God" in AD 10. Being lost sight of for three days (DA:82.3) happened in April.

     The Passover was followed by the seven days' feast of unleavened bread. On the second day of the feast, the first fruits of the year's harvest, a sheaf of barley, was presented before the Lord. All the ceremonies of the feast were types of the work of Christ. The deliverance of Israel from Egypt was an object lesson of redemption, which the Passover was intended to keep in memory. The slain lamb, the unleavened bread, the sheaf of first fruits, represented the Saviour.—DA:77.1
