Each member of The Godhead…Crucified

[Request] Brothers and Sisters, I have a vague recollection of reading an Ellen G. White  passage which presented the reality of each member of The Godhead being crucified on Calvary’s cross.  If you are familiar with such a passage or passages, please provide the reference or copy to me. [Response] While I went searching for such a reference I did come across this statement that I often hear but never read for myself.      Was the human nature of the Son of Mary changed into the divine nature of the Son of God? No; the two natures were mysteriously blended in one person--the Man Christ Jesus. In Him dwelt all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. When Christ was crucified, it was His human nature that died.  Deity did not sink and die;  that would have been  IMPOSSIBLE .  Christ, the sinless One, will save every son and daughter of Adam who accepts the salvation proffered them, consenting to become the children of God. The Saviour has purchase...

When is a Solemn Assembly?

Joel 2:15, 16— “Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly : gather the people, sanctify the congregation , assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.”    In these verses, AS IN Joel 2:1, the command is given to blow the trumpet in Zion .  This second trumpet, however, is not to announce the day of God, but to sanctify both a fast and the people , to call a solemn assembly , from which not one is to be excluded from the assembly. Joel 2:17— “Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare Thy people, O Lord, and give not Thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? ”    Here we are plainly told that God’s people are to face persecution and distress, and that unless they...

When Shall the 144,000 see eye to eye?

Satan worked out a similar plot in the Medo-Persian government with plans that were carried out by intrigue, taking the king unawares.  Though Daniel was cast into the lion's den, he too, came out unharmed, but his enemies perished as did those who threw the three Hebrews into the fiery furnace.  Thus Satan's power was broken in both of these ancient empires.  Had there been such men as these Hebrews in the days of the establishment of the Roman monarchy, or at the closing of the Old Testament history and during the commencement of the New, conditions would have been entirely different. The world is in urgent need at this time of men like the three Hebrews, who would rather yield this present life than to offend their God —men like Daniel, who looked with strong faith to the Lord and was without fault in his religious and secular duties .  By such men as these the world has been blessed with everlasting benefits and rewards that no human lips can...

When shall the church become "the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord"?

Therefore, John's vision of the 144,000 as they stood on Mount Zion with the Lamb, is an incident after this special company of saints had been sealed, and some time before the close of probation.  The sealing of the 144,000 is at the closing of the judgment of the dead, and at the beginning of the judgment of the living.  Therefore, they have a great duty to perform upon the earth in connection with the judgment.  Their service was typified by ancient Israel when they were obliged to possess the Promised Land.  The prophet Zechariah has well described the time: "In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David, and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.  And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem [the church].  And I will pour upon the house of David, and upo...

Are we on our way home now?

The gathering of the 144,000 is antitypical Jacobites returning to the promised land. Isa. 54:6, 7—"For the Lord hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.  For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee." {1TG39:9.5}  Vol. 1 Timely Greetings No. 39 9      The statement, "for a small moment have I forsaken thee," being set forth in contrast to the statement, "but with great mercies will I gather thee," shows that God's forsaking her is her dispersion among the Gentiles, and that her gathering is her returning to the homeland, her inhabiting the desolate cities.—1TG39:9.5-10.1  [1947] Who gathers the 144,000? God Who gathers the GM? The 144,000 [Proof: 9Tr 68.4] Who does this verse refer to? The 144,000. Is God gathering the 144,000 now? Yes [Proof: 4Tr:34.2, 3; 5Tr:102.3; 8Tr:47.4] Then according to Isa. 54:6, 7 " her  [[ the 144,000...

Who is the Ensign?

We mustn’t be so quick to jump to conclusions. This is Brother Houteff’s quoting of the Bible and his interpretation that never changes nor is updated.        Isa. 11:12, first part: “And he shall  set up an  ensign  for the nations.”  Again we read in Isa. 66:19, “And I will set  a sign among them,  and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations.”  The 63rd chapter has the same reference as Isaiah 59, part of verse 19, is here quoted: “So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west and his glory from the rising of the sun.”  The  “sign”   is extensive  [1TG5:10.3, 4; 1TG34:16.5; 5SC1-5:9.4] from the east to the west, and has a meaning for the entire world. The “destruction”  is the “sign” and example to the nations, and the “remnant” are those who are left (the 144,000).  Following this we have the “Loud Cry” (the harvest): “Those who come up to every point, and stand every test, a...
